In 1987 he started his practice in Rockland County at Nyack and Good Samaritan Hospitals and expanded his practice to Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, N.J. He has been in a private practice since 1988 and has worked in various localities across the world including Guys Hospital in London, private practices in Egypt and Greece, Health Volunteer's Overseas in India and Peru and at the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation in Belcourt, ND. Grewal joined the faculty at New York Medical College as Assistant Professor of Medicine where he was involved in patient care as well as teaching. He obtained his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984 and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Boston City Hospital including rotations at Tufts New England Medical Center.
